“Though we stand diminished and forced to leave our homeland; never the less, let us remember the hallowed light of Nuir and the Saint Leighsabour our steadfast angelic sentinel” Spoken by, High Lord Aldence Armaduras, Lord Guardian of the Throne circa 6400 ATA from the short story “Recolonizing of Varakar”. It can be said that none in the Realm of Mürk have suffered more than this race, yet still some look to them in their light like grace to remind them of passed ages of peace and prosperity. In the unique fantasy galactic realm of Mürk we discover: the reclusive warrior society, the history of their ancestors from the Settlement of the Realm to the Second Great Plague, and the age of the Time of Troubles.
Akarians are known as a fairly reclusive warrior society with a numinous understanding of technology and highly developed tradition. The abstract Akarian psyche is both mystical and logical creating a nearly perfect balance between the two. Many have a strong influence of seeing the duality of things, and rarely limit themselves to the one-sided view of things, old wounds and scaring linger so effective that few interfere in the larger dealings of the realm. Those that do involve themselves can be seen as emotional creatures, perceived by some as empathetic, as well as passionate about causes or things they take oaths, or vows to support. However, they can be quick to anger, with foul tempers there battle rage can make them stand, take many wounds, and still fight under the influence of sheer will. There connection to nature while still following modern ways is unique.
Little of their history before the Settlement of Realm of Mürk can be recalled, but one thing is clear; they were breed to be soldiers, and over time they discovered a love of music and art with a passion. Thousands of years later at the end of a war which they had technically won; tragedy struck the destruction of their homeland. It was swift and without mercy by dark beings of power in vengeance towards an unknown goal. The once mighty spacefaring Empire of their ancestors would be forever cursed, and its space called the well of souls. The survivors, the third and last wave of refugees fleeing in a motley fleet of ships settled on Varakar a planet of many islands and lived a bleak life now calling themselves Akarians slowly their mystical abilities began to fade; until the discovery of their new allies the Topkondi Confederation. It was discovered that their magical abilities were linked to contact with a specific Kohljadian crystal during childhood.
During Time of Troubles Circa 10,000 years ATA which has been devastating in nature as a shadow of nameless evil from a past long forgotten begins to threatens all the people of the Realm. Despite the urging of the majestic House Armaduras, those who still answer the calls of allies of old seem to lessen each cycle or galactic year. The other great houses seem to be enthralled into a sleeping state or show blatant corruption that borders on forcing those who disagree to submit, or kill off the heads of noble houses for someone who will follow their lead. Whispers of dangerous words of civil war have started to be heard among the lesser houses and commoners. Still in there hour of twilight the Clerics of Leighsabour struggle to maintain the beacon of light that once gave hope across the galactic realm that their ancestors were known for. Aiding those who call through either their legendary Templar Guard, or the Clerics themselves with their mastery of healing arts that has been forgotten in ages past aided by their mystifying elemental magics through using of Kohljadian crystals and runes forgotten by most to perform such renowned feats.
Can the Akarians match the legendary deeds preformed in distant ages past? The battle calls of the past have been sounded and no one knows who will come. One thing is for certain despite their recent reclusive nature if a champion can gather together the great houses of Anakar. The galactic realm would be better off in facing the returning horrendous enemy of the past. Although they are fewer in number their ability to clash with those they call the enemy is as strong as the day they first set foot in the Realm. In the unique fantasy galactic realm of Mürk, an epic story awaits to lead you through an adventure of several galactic Kingdoms, cultures, and wayward people. The Akarians are one of many such people waiting to be discovered.
